Movember 2008 - Andy's Mo

Movember - Attend a Gala Parte

Andy Pulzar has taken part in Movember 2008, and raised a small amount of money. It was good fun, although the mo was bloody itchy!

Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Well, they say that the only constant in life is change. And it seems some more unexpected change is fast approaching for me.

On Friday I was told that the higher up management at CEA, who own Taxi Club, are looking at refocusing the venue as a rock bar, taking it back to more of the Rocky Cola feel it had before becoming Taxi.

Leaving... on a jet plane

Sometimes it does seem rather strange to get up in winter to a chilly morning with snow on the ground throughout Christchurch and have to clear all the white stuff off your car just to drive to work, then that afternoon jump on a plane to fly to the world's clubbing capital, making my first pilgrimage to the white island where it's around 30 degrees every day and the sun just keeps shining.

Ah, you gotta love holidays.

Live at Taxi Club - Saturday 2/8/08

Here's a short video of Taxi Club, shot on my cheap digital video camera. As you can see the camera doesn't work well in low light, but at least you can get a bit of a feel for how Saturday nights are at Taxi with me on the decks.

Andy Pulzar's Ibiza Adventure

Etc/GMT+12

Andy Pulzar jets off for an amazing week's holiday in Ibiza, checking out the likes of Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Axwell, Angello & Ingrosso, Chris Lake, Sharem Jay, Mauro Picotto and many others work their magic on the decks.

Add to that a week holidaying in Valencia plus an excursion to the wonderfully red Tomato festival in Bunol, it's gonna be quite a holiday!

Andy Pulzar-Playing Live @ Parachute '08

Here's a Life FM Blog from Parachute '08 back in January, that includes some of my Village Stage set.

Sorry about the bum wiggle... I've actually never seen what I look like DJing from behind!! :)

May Update

Well, we're almost halfway through May, and I still can't get over how quickly the year is disappearing. I've started learning some Spanish at CPIT in preparation for my big Spain adventure in August/September (including a whole week in Ibiza!! Bring it on!). I don't expect to have anywhere near a good grasp of the language before I get there, but I guess having a few basics has got to be a help.

My first night as the new Taxi Club resident

Saturday night marked the first night of my new residency at Taxi Club. And I'll admit I was quite nervous leading up to it, as I really wanted it to go well. I've got high hopes for the future of this fantastic venue, and really wanted to get the place rocking.

Thankfully, the new residency seems to be off to a good start.

My first night at Base

It was great getting back to Base-ics (chuckle) on Friday night as the first night of my new residency at Base Nightclub in SoL Square.

Getting there just before 10pm, we discovered that one of their CDJ's had been out on loan, and I wasn't able to start playing. After rushing home to grab some vinyl (will remember to take some with me in future) I got back and started playing around 10.30, just as the second CDJ turned up (typical!).

BASE Residency begins!

Well, tonight my new residency at Base kicks off. I'm hugely looking forward to this, and it feels a little like a homecoming, as I've only played at the new Base once since the move (and that was Unity in 2006!). Ah, the joys of long term residencies! Oh well, I'm back at Base now, so let the good times roll!

It's free to get in before midnight, so you definitely need to pop in early, have a drink and a dance to some good house & electro.

Hope to see you on the dancefloor!
